Security

Just like most internet sites today we use industry standard Socket Socket Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt the information you send us. However unlike most UK sites, who are using only 40 bit encryption, we now use full 128 bit encryption technology, and have a Global Server Certificate.

Encryption is a way of scrambling messages so that they cannot be read without decryption keys. The length of the key used to encrypt messages is a good indication of the amount of effort that will be needed to decrypt that message. Secure Server Certificates use 40-bit encryption, which is usually more than enough to protect most of the information travelling on the net. Yet if you added just one bit to a 40-bit key, you would double the amount of effort needed to crack the code.

Global Server Certificates enable the negotiation of SSL or TLS sessions using strong 128-bit RC2 or RC4 encryption. 128-bit encrypted messages are 309,485,009,821,345,068,724,781,056 times harder to break than 40-bit messages! Strong encryption is designed to protect the highly sensitive and valuable information that the determined and expert hacker is likely to target and can profit from - such as credit card information.

As we have already said, we use Global Server Certificate strong encryption, at Let's Automate Ltd. The contact for any security issues, questions or comments is mikeh@letsautomate.com who can also be contacted by telephone on 01753 580516.

How to pay us

We accept payment by Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Switch, Connect, and Solo. You can also send us a cheque (must be drawn on a UK bank's account). Cheques require 7 days clearance before goods are despatched. You can also transfer the money into our account by wire transfer, please e-mail for details.

We do NOT accept payment by Electron or Diners Club.

When do we charge your card ?

We only charge your card when we despatch the goods, and not before. We only charge your card for what is despatched.

How do we clear your card ?

We do NOT clear your card on-line. Instead we manually clear your card when we ship the goods. No third party is given your card details, other than our credit card company

Do we send an invoice ?

We always send a VAT invoice. If you choose to have the same invoice and delivery address then we include the invoice with your goods. If you choose a different delivery address to that of your invoice then we post the invoice to your invoice address, and include a delivery note with your goods.

As an aid for the security of your credit card information we always make a felt tip mark over the credit card number (but we leave the first 4 numbers visible so that you are aware which card you used to pay). This stops anyone intercepting your card details whilst your package is in the hands of the courier or the postman.
